Leylean vestalen meldanildenyo Texasenna; I go to my best friend's wedding in Texas
Of course, the wedding isn't until this Saturday. But I'm down here helping out in the week-before arrangements. Yesterday I and Marjorie's friend Nicole threw her bachelorette party, actually more of a lingerie shower. We had a blast. I thought it really amusing that my gift was considered "shocking." I thought it rather conservative.

I'm now staying at Marjorie's apartment in Baton Rouge, Louisianna. Last night we stayed with her Mamaw and had homemade Cajun shrimp gumbo. Can life hold any greater joy?

One of Marjorie's cats decided to take and hide my watch. I haven't found it yet.

And I finally gave Marjorie the special gift I had for her. I knew that only she and I would appreciate it. She has the honor of being the recipient and subject of my first original Quenya composition. I worked very hard, but I'm afraid there might be some errors in it.

Roughly translated:

Wedding Hymn for Marjorie (name meaning "pearl")
by Holly

Marjorie, flower of women,
Most beautiful of pearls (or, "of Marjories"),
Dearest friend, I bless thee
From my soul to the highest heaven,
And I thank God for his gift,
O! I thank our Father for thee.
To thee I wish all joy
On this, thy wedding day.

Sister (in spirit), truer than a sister,
And more abiding than a blood-sister is,
I have come now without fear,
For thou art not going away, as I know.
Thy husband is a king on earth,
And our Bridegroom is (the) King.
O! The King of the world is coming!
Marjorie is the bride of the king!

Most of the "king" comments refer to her fiance's last name -- King. Then there are the Christian references -- our Father God and our Bridegroom Christ the King.
